Preferate - Cahor

Pinot Franc

Brand: Suvorov-vin
Range: Preferate
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cahor (sometimes called Kagor) is a naturally sweet red wine made from very late-harvested Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Originally the Russian church used to import red wines from the Cahors region in South west France and sweeten this with honey. During the Napoleonic wars, they were forced to look locally and found a new source for high quality, red grapes in the southern region of Cahul and Cahor wines have been a tradition ever since.

This red dessert wine comes from a vintage crop of 2005. It is an intense ruby colour with a delicate aroma. On tasting there are noble tones of morocco, blackcurrant and chocolate, a velvety finish and a pleasant tartness.
